"In the Rain" is a 1972 soul single by American vocal group The Dramatics. Released from their debut album, Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get, it reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and spent four weeks at number one on the Best Selling Soul Singles chart.[1] It is the group's biggest hit.[2] The song was written by Tony Hester and was released in February 1972.[3]

Keith Sweat covered the song on his 1987 album Make It Last Forever.

R&B group Xscape also covered the song in 1997 from the soundtrack, Love Jones starring Larenz Tate and Nia Long.

Smooth Jazz artist Boney James covered the song featuring Dwele on the Shine album in 2006.
